My son’s Cub Scout Den didn’t meet weekly like others in the country; they met once per month. The boys were expected to complete most of the requirements with only a parent’s help.
There was no list of ideas or “A Plan” we could use to fulfill the requirements, especially for places he needed to visit. With sports and school and a job and housewife-type activities, it quickly became overwhelming to do this research. Multiply this by each individual family in the den and it equaled one big Vortex of Lost Hours.
So I began talking to other moms and eventually create a list of ideas to pass onto other families who are coming up in the ranks. Then I thought, if I can ease the pain for our Pack, why not do it for others nearby? I started this little blog with the hope that it will help shrink your own Vortex.
Here are some of our ideas for the central area of New Jersey. If you have suggestions for northern or southern NJ, please let us know!
